Who we are
As the only Crown Research Institute mandated to support New Zealand industry, IRL is firmly industry focused. We strive to make a difference to individual companies, which in turn supports economic transformation for the country as a whole.
Our history
Most of IRL’s current science and engineering capabilities were transferred from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, which was disbanded when the CRI model was established in 1992. Read more>>
