Intelligent Machines and Devices (IMD) group concentrate its research activities in the advanced manufacturing and information and communication technologies (ICT[?]) sectors.
We perform internationally recognised R&D in cognitive radio, advanced sonar technologies, holographic audio, blind source separation, machine vision technologies, robotics and automation. We collaborate nationally as well as internationally with world-leading researchers.
Our mission is to perform R&D activities that closely align with what is needed by New Zealand companies to take that next step to be global leaders in their respective markets. We have developed advanced technologies for New Zealand companies including Tait, Phitek, Gallagher, ENL, Sanford, Stickmen Studios, Integrated Marine Group, Exhibbit and many others.
